Community Member-Led Event
My mom was always passionate about health and fitness. She loved her morning workouts and weekend hikes. In the summer of 2023, my mom was diagnosed with GBM. I am still in awe of the way she faced her disease—her strength, positivity, and compassion only deepened through her illness. I am doing my first Ironman in her honour—to feel connected to her, and because I know she is still my biggest cheerleader. She is the reason I have the strength I do, and I am forever grateful to have had such an inspiring, strong, loving, and intelligent mom.
I am racing my first 140.6 Ironman in Ottawa next August in honour of my mom—my biggest cheerleader and source of strength.
