Dangerous Dave Memorial Cup

Community Member-Led Event

We lost our father, Dave, in December 2016. This year marks nearly 10 years since he passed away.

His battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, was incredibly brief. He passed away just six weeks after being diagnosed. Only a few months later, in February of 2017, we also lost our uncle to an astrocytoma. Because of this, raising awareness and funding for brain cancer research is a cause that is deeply personal to our family.

Our dad loved watching his daughters play ringette. He rarely missed a game and especially enjoyed coming to our co-ed tournaments, where he could cheer us on and watch us show the boys up a little.

Today, the sport remains a huge part of our family. Two of his grand-daughters play ringette, with the hopes that his newest grand-daughter will fall in love with the game as well. We know he would be very proud of everything they have accomplished so far.

Hosting this tournament is our way of honoring Dave's memory and celebrating the sport he loved so much.

Our hope is to make this an annual event while raising funds and awareness to help advance brain cancer research.

Thank you so much for your support!
