Running Strong: Fighting Glioblastoma

  • Cape Town South Africa (map)

Community Member-Led Initiative

On 23 May 2027, I will be running the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon to raise vital funds for Glioblastoma research - a cause that has hit deeply close to home.

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma, a brutal, relentless terminal brain cancer with no known cure. Over the past year, he has fought the hardest battle of his life. This disease has stolen so much from him - his independence, his confidence, and his quality of life. Watching someone you love go through unimaginable suffering while facing a diagnosis with no cure is heartbreaking, but it has also sparked a powerful resolve in me.

I am running to honor my dad's incredible courage and bravery. Every step I take through the streets of Cape Town is a step toward finding better treatments, restoring hope, and ultimately discovering a cure so that future families won't have to endure this heartbreak.

Please join me in supporting this critical research. Together, we can turn pain into purpose and make every kilometer count.
