In March 2025, our lives changed forever when my husband, Matt, was diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM), the most aggressive form of brain cancer.
While our journey with GBM has been short, our story together has been anything but. We've been together for 10 years and married for the last 3, filling those years with adventure, laughter, and a life we never took for granted.
If you know Matt, you know he's happiest at a live concert, flipping through vinyl records, debating the best hot dog he can find, answering Jeopardy! questions before the contestants, or starting yet another annual rewatch of The Sopranos. He's the person who can make ordinary moments feel extraordinary, and he's so much more than a diagnosis.
Today, we're facing recurrence and beginning treatment once again. Like so many families affected by GBM, we've learned that despite decades of research, the standard of care for this disease has changed very little. Families are still forced to face impossible decisions while hoping that research will create better options for the next person diagnosed.
That's why my son and I will be running the Copenhagen Marathon in May 2027. Every mile is for Matt. Every donation supports the Glioblastoma Research Organization and the critical research needed to develop better treatments—and ultimately, a cure.
If Matt has taught us anything, it's to keep showing up, find joy where you can, and make the most of the time you're given.
Thank you for helping us turn our love for Matt into hope for thousands of families who will face GBM after us. Every donation, every share, and every word of encouragement brings us one step closer to changing the future.
