Community Member-Led Initiative

We are rowing a Hopkins sibling 8+ at the 2026 Head of the Charles Regatta to raise funds and awareness for Glioblastoma Research in honor of Dad.

Dad instilled a love for rowing, and for the Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR), in each of us, attending even in 2021 as he was struggling with mobility in later stages of his fight with Glioblastoma Multiformae (GBM) to cheer on Maddie, Emma, Ben, Lucy, and Lily in their various events, spend quality family time, watch some great racing, and catch up with old rowing friends.

We participated in the Directors Challenge 8+ in 2024 for the first time, becoming the first 8+ of all siblings to race down the iconic 4702 meters of the Charles River course. This year, we are aiming to beat our time from two years ago, along with the amount of support raised for GBM.

Thanks to your support, our 2024 fundraiser was able to fund a new research project: “Project Build On”. We are excited to continue supporting cutting-edge GBM research through the Glioblastoma Research Organization through this year’s fundraiser.

We hope, as we power down the course on October 18th, that you will support us by remembering Dad, learning about GBM (excellent resources provided by our fundraising partner The Glioblastoma Research Organization), and donating to ongoing research for this particularly deadly and devastating cancer through our fundraiser.
