Community Member-Led Initiatve
Running a marathon has been a personal goal of mine, and I’m proud to take on this challenge while raising awareness and funds for an important cause. This cause is especially meaningful to me because I lost my grandfather to an astrocytoma, a type of brain tumor. While his diagnosis was not glioblastoma, experiencing the impact of brain cancer firsthand showed me how deeply these diseases affect not only the person diagnosed, but also their families and loved ones. His memory is one of the reasons I’m especially passionate about supporting this organization.
Glioblastoma is a highly aggressive form of cancer that affects the brain and spinal cord. Currently, there is no cure, and while research continues to search for better treatments, the journey can be incredibly difficult for those diagnosed and for the families and loved ones supporting them.
At the core of the Glioblastoma Research Organization is a commitment to building a community hub that connects people going through similar situations around the world. That is why I want to help spread awareness about this community. Whether you or someone you love has been affected by glioblastoma, you’re looking for a community of support, or you simply feel inspired to contribute to the cause, every bit of support makes a difference.
Every mile I run is an opportunity to raise awareness, support research, and help bring us closer to better treatments and, hopefully, a cure. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to support me along the way — whether by donating, sharing this page, or simply cheering me on.
Thank you for helping me turn 26.2 miles into something bigger than a finish line! For him, for the families still fighting, and for a future where fewer families have to experience this type of loss — every mile has a purpose.
Yayo, espero que desde el cielo me acompañes en cada paso y sepas que cada una de estas millas las corro por ti.
Te extrañamos!
